tgif + baby love

Hi everyone! I haven't fallen off the face of the earth - I'm just caught in the black hole known as "the writing deadline." The good news is that it's going really well. I hope to be back to my normal blogging schedule next week.

Today is a special TGIF!

On Wednesday I got a text from my dear friend Dawn that read, "at 6 cm. had epidural."

The next text came 20 minutes later: "at 9cm."

The last (and final text) read, "9.4 and 21 1/2 inches at 9:22am"

So exciting! Baby Max was a 9-pounder born on 09.09.09!

© Melody Abrahamian

A beautiful life event like Max's birth makes this TGIF pretty easy!

I'm trusting love.

I'm grateful for good friends and beautiful babies.

I'm inspired by technology, pictures, and stories that help us feel connected even when we're far away.

I'd love to hear your TGIF today!

welcome to baby MAX !!! all those 9's must mean something beautiful for his future!

I am TRUSTING that if Mark and I are meant to get into our Cursillo weekends this October, then we will get in -- and if it's not our time, then the call will come next year instead.

I am GRATEFUL for the strong church community we belong to ... right now, as in any times of uncertainty or nationwide troubles, it is good to be grounded in one's faith. Having a faith FAMILY to share the journey with makes it all bearable.

I am INSPIRED by ... artists. Artists of all kinds, sizes, shapes, talents. Mixed Media is my favorite, but I can totally appreciate, and even want to try, other mediums. Media? whichever is grammatically correct, that's what I mean !!!

I am trusting that things will continue to improve for my sister.
I am grateful for my amazing kids and wonderful husband.
I am inspired by a lovely tablecloth my grandmother embroidered. That my aunt saved when she was going to get rid of it due to a stain. That my aunt gave to me for my wedding after my Grandmother was gone. Everytime we take it out and use it I am in awe. Tonight my tiny one seemed in awe as well as she traced the threads with her fingers. That inspires me too!

Today I am trusting this feeling of freedom that I found this week. I'm trusting that it has come from good choices. I'm trusting that it is here to stay because I really, really like being rid of a few proverbial elephants I had been dragging around with me.

Today I am grateful for my yoga practices that have become "routine" over the last almost-year. While there are definite physical benefits, I've been more impressed with how yoga has helped my mental flexibility and has challenged me into places I wouldn't have otherwise dared to have gone.

Today I am inspired by new music that's been appearing in my house this week. I posted a youtube of some new Will Hoge to my blog yesterday, there's new Lucero I'm listening to right now- and the theme is beautiful, magical words and music that move me.

I am trusting that my son will be ok and return home safe even though he is serving his country in a land far away. I take heart in that this is his choice, his calling and he feels good things are happening for the people there.

I am trusting that it's ok to embrace joy. That doing so won't make it disappear. That the universe isn't using me for entertainment and that life really is more good than bad.

I am trusting that life (and the internet) bring sprititual and inspirational people into my life for a reason. And I just need to be open to their words and thoughts.

I am trusting that saying thank you is enough. :)
