bsm: my little outlier

Charlie (jumping and rubbing his feet on the trampoline): Is my hair big yet?

Me: Yes! You look like Malcolm Gladwell!

Charlie: Who is that?

Me: He is one of my favorite writers. Your dad and I love to read his books.

Charlie: Is he your boyfriend?

Me: No.

Charlie: Am I still your best boyfriend?

Me: Yep. Always.

Charlie: OK, then. You can read that guy's books and I'll be your Charlie.

Happy Best Shot Monday!

PS - I took the shot of Charlie and, believe it or not, he's standing still. It's very cold and dry here - it's a-big-hair-static-electricity-shock-your-sister dream come true! I didn't take the pic of Gladwell. Malcom, if you're reading this, you're welcome to come over and jump on our trampoline!

Oh my goodness that is funny. That hair. I bet he almost visibly sparks!

Stay warm. We are finally supposed to climb out of the bitter cold today. Girls scout cookie sales are slow in sub-freezing temps.

Malcolm Gladwell is a fantastic read - even if he does appear to jump with wet socks on an electric trampoline! As for Charlie - it's only a matter of time before Adam Lambert calls and wants his hair back ...

That's some trick for Charlie with all that straight hair standing on end. I think Malcolm has it a bit easier with the curl :) LOVE his books, one of my favourites as well. Have a great week!

We've been sparking away in our home this weekend, too! My little ones thought the "hair" was the best part of doing back somersaults off the the couch (that static builds up just right!) Love the pictures and love the author (think you're pretty great, too!) Happy Monday!

I love Charlie too! And you know, I've never been on a trampoline. I'm actually a little scared but in a fun sort of way.

Hi, I commented back on my blog, but didn't want you to miss it, so I brought it here:

Thank you, Brené. I backdated this (didn't even know I could do that until today), but i know it took me four days to write. That's okay - things take the time they take.

Thank you for the inspiration to approach the experience from this perspective: I am inclined to gratitude, and there is something about a structure that helps focus that.

And your post here is wonderful. We have WAY too much rain right now for ANYone to look like that (even Malcolm Gladwell). Great pic!

Ha! love the pics and also love reading Gladwell's books. Did you see the article in NYer about football and dog fighting . . . his brain works in remarkable ways. . .

Is Charlie four? This conversation sounds like something I'd have with my four year old daughter!

I laughed at this picture. Love it so much!

Love your photos! WOW, can't believe he is standing still!!! That is some major static. He could power some machine!

It is finally warming up here.. probably to your cold temps! twenties and thirties with sun is a major heat wave here!!!

That's hilarious. When Charlie becomes a world-renowned author, please ensure that THAT is his headshot!
