labor day fun
We had such a great weekend! After working most of Saturday, I spent Sunday with Steve, the kids, and my parents. We had lunch at Hooks Airport then we went shopping in Old Town Spring. It was my first time at Hooks in 27 years. I took flying lessons there when I was a senior in high school. No, I don't fly anymore. The skies are safe.
Not much had changed around the airport. Lots of small planes in the air and big, fat nutria in the pond. Here's one of my favorite shots of the weekend. I "tooned" it just for fun.
Serious medical advice from our favorite pediatrician:

Old Town Spring is a great little shopping area in Spring, Texas. I was so happy to have my new camera lens with me. It's kinda heavy but it does everything. Here are a few shots from our outing.
It doesn't get more Main Street than this!

These yard statues are from the Brookwood Store. It's a wonderful place. Read more here. I'm having so much fun playing with the different photo editing tools. It has become one of my favorite creative outlets. Plus, it's like magic to me.

You know I have a thing for birds. I found these at Thad's. I bought a small flock.

Flowers with twinkle lights. They were calling my name. Swear.

Then . . . there was the hat store!

On Monday we participated in the Second Annual Labor Day Kids' Amazing Race. Sean, a neighbor and good friend, coordinates this massive race for the kids. There are complex clues hidden all over the neighborhood and the kids ride in teams to find the clues, solve them, and race back to the finish line. It was awesome!

Hope you had a great weekend!
