This is the perfect day to share one of my favorite quotes about light! Here's to light and love!

And a special thanks to Elan of Ninjamatics who designed the graphics!

I shared the same one today - love the confluence of MLK and my (and your) word ... it's just so brilliantly simple and true, too. xox

Another great one from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..."Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

Hi Brene
I am curious if in your work you look at the role of humility and humbleness with regards to avoiding shame. From the bits I've read and seen of your work I've not heard you talk about those concepts. Very interested in your thoughts.
Kind regards - love the work!

This is my first trip to your blog. I am reading Imperfections now. I am taken aback by this quote since last night my wife gave me specific reasons why she hates me. The reasons were mostly tied to the illusion I portrayed myself to be when we were dating as I tried to be who I thought she wanted me to be so she would love me. I wanted Love and Belonging with this woman so intensely, but I knew she could never love the "real" me. Now I not only have to own the pain that I have caused the person I love most, I must also own the disastrous results of my facade. I only hope that my love for her might drive out her hate for me! May God Forgive Me!

Dr. Brené Brown's TED talk, The Power of Vulnerability, inspired me to speak about love.

http://stanfaryna.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/do-you-love-strongly-and-other-social-media-dohs-whole-hearted/

But I am not the only one inspired by her TED TALK. My friend, Janet Callaway, and many other bloggers are among Brown's fans.

So I wondered what she's been up to and then I came to see for myself. I like it. As it turns out, Brené Brown is a magic pixie!

But I need more!

I am a massage therapist, and have gently woven in some realities about marriage. I have read all your books Brene, and am thrilled about this marriage one coming out. We need some good simple so then it becomes powerful, and empowering books on this very tender subject. Thank-you for all you do. I have given many copies of your book to clients and we all pass around links to your talks!!
You go girl !
With love from Cincinnati, Brenda
